The Human Fund presents Pop Culture: An Homage to Warhol
Saturday, October 13th, Idea Center at Playhouse Square

The Human Fund's third annual fundraiser exhibition and party pays tribute to one of the premier artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol. Pop Culture: An Homage to Warhol will be held on Saturday, October 13th at Idea Center at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, starting at 7 pm.

The Human Fund, a unique foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, has for two years now, helped inner-city art programs for children in K to 12th grade and college, develop and flourish. Through fundraising and benefit events the Human Fund has not only generated concrete support for programs within the Cleveland public schools, but has also created a new way for people to learn about and view contemporary artwork.

Pop Culture: An Homage to Warhol will present a museum quality exhibition of approximately twenty original Andy Warhol works, as well as work by artists such as Jasper Johns and Robert Motherwell. A catalogue will accompany the exhibit, which will examine Warhol's influences, body of work, and his profound influence on Postmodern art.

The evening's festivities will include dinner, dancing, a live auction and a silent auction featuring Warholesque works by students of the Cleveland Public Schools. All proceeds will benefit the Human Fund. The party will also include a re-creation of the famous Studio 54 nightclub, Warhol wigs, Warhol's Silver Cloud sculpture, mannequins and Polaroid cameras. Guests will be invited to dress in 60's or 70's attire as they become immersed in an environment that simulates the burgeoning consumerism and volatility of Warhol's era. VIPs will have access to "The Factory" lounge and martini bar. The opening music will be a Motown performance by students from Cleveland public schools, followed a DJ spinning disco music in Studio 54.

Proceeds will support the "All City Arts Program" which is a significant portion of the K-12 arts curriculum in the Cleveland Public school system. Additionally, funds will be directed to scholarship programs initiated by the Human Fund.

Co-chairs of the party are Heather Guess and Erin Slater, and exhibition curators are Heather Zises and Heather Guess.

Individual tickets to the party begin at $100 per person. For more information about tickets or sponsorship opportunities, contact Heather Guess, Acting Executive Director, at 216.409.0990.
