This year students from the Cleveland Metropolitan Schools have produced a body of work that considers the radical political and social happenings of the late 1960s as they relate to social and political unrest today. Students are considering America as a nation at war, whether it is Vietnam or Iraq. They are examining the results of the civil rights and women’s liberation movements on the eve of a historical presidential election, which will either result in the first African American President or the first female Vice President. Students across the district participated in this project and ten works were selected to auction at the Human Fund event on October 24th.
